About Jeff

I’ve been a vegetarian for a dozen or so years, and a vegan for around four years. I primarily follow the McDougall diet, which is a low-fat vegan program. I also run a personal website and founded a support-based community website for gay youth in 1995. I’m working on my first novel.

About Vegocentric

Combining the words vegan and egocentric really crystallizes my beliefs pretty succinctly. I think a low-fat vegan diet is the only healthy diet for people to avoid chronic diseases, obesity, cancers, and heart disease. If you can’t get people to stop committing suicide with their knives and forks, it seems strange to think environmental causes or animal rights would offer more motivation. That said, I support both of these things, but only as a secondary benefit of a healthy diet and lifestyle.
